Q. Are you a native of Nashville or
somewhere else?
A. Somewhere else (Indiana).
Q. If somewhere else, where, and
how did you end up here?
A. Do we really have time for that? OK. I was a preacher’s kid. So I
started in Indiana, then moved to Cadiz, Ky. When I graduated for
high school, my parents moved to Louisville and then Frankfort. I
went to Bowling Green to attend Western Kentucky University and met
my true love.
Q. Are you married and do you have
children or pets?
A. Yep, to a sports nut named John. I have a 5-year-old, Caroline.
She started kindergarten this fall.
Q. Have a day job? Tell us about
it?
A. I’m magazine editor at the newspaper in Evansville, Ind. It’s a
new position (as in it’s been newly created so I’m not sure what to
tell yet. I’ve been working with some of our magazines for about
nine months now).
Q. What do you like do to when
you’re not working?
A. Sleep. Attend tea parties
my daughter gives.
Q. Other than romance, what genres
do you read?
A. A few mysteries, Dora and
Disney Princess beginner readers.
Q. Describe your favorite vacation
spot?
A. Someplace where I don’t
have cell phone connections.
Q. How long have you been writing?
A. I don’t know if I can count that high. Since middle school or so.
Q. What are you working on now?
A. A women’s fiction that
delves into the isolation of the child-bearing years.
Q. How much progress have you made
toward publication?
A. I’ve submitted one book
to Harlequin and been rejected. I’m working on a second novel.
Q. Who are your favorite romance
writers?
A. Meg Cabot. Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Q. What other genres do you read
and who are your favorite authors in those?
A. Mystery and Diane Mott
Davidson.
Q. Describe the book of your heart.
A. Something funny and true.
