Q. Are you a native of Nashville or somewhere else?
A. I was born in Scottsville, KY.
Q. If somewhere else, where, and how did you end up here?
A. I took a job at the offices of Cracker Barrel when I graduated
from college. After driving down here from Scottsville for a year, I
got a divorce and moved to Lebanon.
Q. Are you married and do you have children or pets?
A. I am married, since 2001, and have a 20-year-old son. I also
have two dogs and two cats and just this year got rid of a tank of
salt-water fishes. I almost cried but the new owners sent me a few
pictures to show me they loved their new homes.
Q. Have a day job? Tell us about it.
A. I work as a Information Technology Project Manager. Geez...
where to begin. I used to like computers so I got into that field,
worked as a programmer for years, always working with guys, and
finally decided it was more fun telling them what to do instead of
just working with them.
Q. What do you like do to when you're not working?
A. Watching too much reality TV, reading, writing, trying to get
on my husband's nerves - it's a favorite pastime of mine.
Q. Other than romance, what genres do you read?
A. Mystery and horror mostly.
Q. Describe your favorite vacation spot?
A. 75-80 degrees, white sand, lots of ocean, and few people. And
of course romances!
Q. How long have you been writing?
A. I've wanted to write my whole life. I read about it, thought
about it, dreamed about it, planned on it, and finally actually
started seriously doing it in 2006.
Q. What are you working on now?
A. My characters for my next book. Nobody wants to be who I
wanted them to be.
Q. How much progress have you made toward publication?
A. Well, I have finally finished my first book. I entered a few
contests for some feedback along the way, and went to RWA Nationals
in 2006 to figure out a little more about the business and to meet
people. I've gotten my first query letter written and will be
sending it out with my partial, looking for my first rejection
letter soon.
Q. Who are your favorite romance writers?
A. Jennifer Crusie, Nora Roberts, Maureen Child
Q. What other genres do you read and who are your favorite
authors in those?
A. Haven't read a lot of anything but romance in the last few
years but I love Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Ridley Pearson, Patricia
Cornwell, and Mary Higgins Clark.
Q. Describe the book of your heart.
A. I don't know that I have one. I have lots and lots of stories
running around in my head, but so far, there isn't one big one that
I just have to do.
