RWA National Conference 2006

Finalist and winner Trish Milburn, otherwise known as Patricia Milburn
when her name is up on the Golden Heart page, here are a few shots of
MCRW authors representing at the 2006 National Conference in Atlanta,
Georgia. First we have Nicole Byrd (Cheryl Zach) and Robyn DeHart
at the Literacy Autographing. |

Moving on down the row in alphabetical fashion, we have
Anna DeStefano and Sherrilyn Kenyon, who actually had a table to herself
so her massive line wouldn't block the authors on either side of her. |

Right beside each other like two little happy clams, we
have Janice Lynn and Kate Lyon, both published with Dorchester. At
the end of a row was Beth Pattillo, looking as peachy as a Georgia you
know what in this shot. |

Dianna Love Snell was next, unless of course she was in
the L's, in which case she was closer to Janice and Kate than Debra.
Last but hardly least, considering the number of books she's published,
was the lovely Debra Webb. |

This year we had several authors up for RITA and Golden Heart awards as
well. Unsurprisingly, Trish Milburn had been nominated for two
Golden Hearts again, and in the RITAs, MCRW members were rooting on Beth
Pattillo and Dianna Love Snell. In the photos below, taken after
the awards ceremony, Trish poses with the RITA Winner for best first
book (and wonderful workshop presenter) Stephanie Feagan. Trish
did not take home the gold this year, but that's okay because she's been
decked with the bling from previous years! However, authors Dianna
Love Snell and Beth Pattillo did have to figure out how to cart the
little lady home without damaging her. Luckily neither author had
that far to drive, comparatively, and my guess is they placed the statue
in the front windshield for all to see. If only RWA would contract
some bobble head RITA statues, winners could carry them in their cars at
all times. Congratulations to all authors who participated in the book
signing for helping raise so much money for literacy awareness and to
our Golden Heart and RITA finalists and winners. See you next year
in Dallas! |
